Reports and export
Reports is a board you build. The KPIs and charts are cards you add, resize and reorder, so the screen ends up showing what you look at rather than what we guessed you would.
The figures at the top
Balance, Income and Expenses for the period, and their titles change with the range: monthly balance, yearly balance, balance for the period.
These are flows. With the same period, they must be identical to the income and expense cards on your home screen. If they are not, that is a bug worth reporting.
Next to the balance sits Total saved, deliberately shown beside it rather than added into it. Money in a savings pocket is yours, but it is not this month's income, and adding it in made the balance disagree with every other screen.
The period filter
Reports inherits the range you set in Transactions until you give it one of its own. From that moment it keeps its own range and stops following.
All history is one of the options, and it means all of it, with no comparison against a previous period, because there is no previous period.
What counts
The same canonical rule as the rest of the app. Transfers between your accounts, savings movements, opening balances and adjustments are not income or expenses, and debt accounts are excluded from these totals. Money you put into a savings pocket from outside the app is not income either: it shows in Total saved, and counting it in both places was double counting.
Charts with Denis
You can ask for a chart in plain language and get it built for you. This needs Pro and an internet connection, and it shares the daily AI allowance.
Exporting
The Export tab produces XLSX, CSV or PDF. The export runs in the background with a progress notification, so a large ledger does not freeze the app.
Beyond the transactions in your range, you can include sections that describe your current state, which ignore the date filter because a balance has no period:
- Accounts and their balances
- Budgets
- Savings pockets, with goal, saved, percentage, target date and interest
In CSV these arrive as separate files inside a ZIP, in PDF as their own sections, and in XLSX as extra sheets.
