Scan a receipt
Take a photo of the receipt and the app reads the amount, the merchant and the date, then creates the transaction for you.
Works on iPhone and Android. Available on the free plan, with a monthly allowance.
How to use it
From the transaction sheet or the capture menu, choose the camera, photograph the receipt, and confirm what comes back. You can correct anything before saving, and correcting the category teaches the app for next time.
You can also pick an existing photo from your library instead of taking a new one.

What to expect from the reading
Cents are respected per currency. Dictating or photographing 21.87 in dollars saves 21.87. The same figure in a currency without cents, like Colombian pesos or yen, is saved as a whole number. The app does not round your dollars to whole units, and it does not invent cents for currencies that have none.
Long receipts work better than crumpled ones. The total is what matters, so a photo where the total line is legible is enough. You do not need the whole receipt in frame.
No text recognition happens on your phone. The image is sent for reading. If that matters to you, see Where your data lives.
Which account it lands in
Photos have no default account. If the receipt names the payment method clearly enough, it can be matched to one of your accounts; otherwise the transaction lands in Principal and you move it.
Troubleshooting
It read the wrong total. Receipts with several totals, subtotals, taxes, tips, are genuinely ambiguous. Correct the amount before saving.
It says I ran out. The free allowance is monthly. You can still record the expense by hand, which is always unlimited.
